His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester visits Toyota Burnaston plant
His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester visited Toyota’s vehicle manufacturing plant at Burnaston on Tuesday 28th June as part of a wider visit to Derbyshire.
The Duke attended a private meeting with TMUK Executives and then took part in tours of Press, Weld and Assembly production shops, where he met long serving members. The Duke showed great interest in the manufacturing processes.
The Duke was accompanied on his visit by the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mr William Tucker.

Toyota Manufacturing UK produces Avensis, Auris, Auris Touring Sport and Auris Hybrid models at its vehicle manufacturing plant at Burnaston, Derbyshire, and petrol and hybrid engines at its engine manufacturing plant at Deeside, North Wales. In 2015, TMUK produced 190,161 vehicles, 239,728 engines for export and local assembly at plants across the world.
