General Fundraising

All income for the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust is generated through fundraising, which is critical to our mission of making a difference in the communities in which we operate.

The main source of income comes from our Lean Approach Seminars. However, funds are raised in a variety of ways, including donations received from our Public Visit Programme, silent auctions and not forgetting our popular annual Christmas Square raffle. All of these activities and many more are vital and allow us to raise much needed funds. Helping us to help others.

Charity Working Group

Another vital ingredient to our fundraising activities is the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust Working Group. Pictured above, they act as window members in the areas in which they work, both on the shop-floor and in the office. Promoting and supporting the work of the Trust.

Fundraising Activities

Information Systems Recycling

A valuable part of our fundraising activity is sustainable IT asset disposal, helping to protect the environment by recycling our e-waste more responsibly, ensuring it does not end up in landfill each year.

Much needed funds are raised with support from Stone Group, the first IT company to invest in the National Forest as part of their mission to encourage UK organisations to dispose of IT assets responsibly and drive positive environmental impact.

Since its launch, they have helped The National Forest plant 500+ trees across various projects, recycled 120,000 unwanted items and awarded customers with £500,000+ in additional funds by using Stone 360 app to generate an extra 20% on their rebates to buy tech through Stone. A win, win all round!

Christmas Jumper Day

The Christmas spirit continued at Burnaston and Deeside as Members were feeling festive when they gathered in a socially distanced manner to bring some seasonal vibes to TMUK’s Christmas Jumper Day. Each Member donated £1 as part of the festive fun, whilst raising just under £100 for the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust. Good job everyone!

Quality Assurance Christmas Raffle

Demand for raffle tickets was high when our Quality Assurance (QA) Division held their Christmas Raffle in December.

With many of the prizes donated by QA Members themselves, the annual prize draw is getting bigger and better each year, which is fantastic news for the Trust.

A massive thank you to Jane and Sarah (pictured) who worked hard to make it happen and to all those QA Members who generously donated prizes.

£141 was raised and kindly donated to the Trust.

Good work - well done!

Silent Auction - Signed Derby County Footballs

Another two lucky winners, this time, of signed Derby County Footballs, were Dave from our QA Team and Mick from our Facilities Team.

Congratulations to you both.

Silent Auction - Bike Stands

Having recently been gifted 10 virtually new and hardly used second-hand Park Tool PCS 9.2 PRO Bike Stands, yet more fundraising opportunities have been possible. The stands had previously been used by our Learning & Development team to undertake training.

In total £640 was raised – a fantastic amount, so thank you to those Members, and avid cyclists, for supporting the Trust.

Kev Potter, a Trustee and keen cyclist was one of the lucky recipients, alongside cycling buddy, Scott.
